Brooke Shields Walks Out Of Leap of Faith!
Brooke Shields has an eclectic career to boast of. Right from her first role, which she bagged at 12, to her latest stint in the 2011 movie, ‘Chalet Girl’, Shields has carved for herself a unique niche, in which she dared to do the most controversial roles, without ever stooping too low.
With the position that she now stands at, the actress has the liberty of saying ‘no’ whenever she pleases. She even did that when the producers of a play entitled ‘Leap of Faith’, announced that they were moving to New York. However, Brooke joined it while it was being performed in L.A.
Putting her family above all else, the veteran actress firmly denied the offer to continue starring in the play, and walked out, stating the reason as a shortage of time. She apologetically announced that she regrets not being able to be a part of the play, and went on to say that performing in its world premiere was an extraordinary experience.
While wishing the play’s producers luck in New York, she said that she has her hands full with other film and television projects. She is currently starring in a musical named ‘The Addams family’.
Brooke created quite a ruckus by saying that she wouldn’t let her daughters get into the entertainment industry until they are over with their education. Talking of the reason behind it she said that she isn’t yet ready to give up on her career, to build up theirs.
However, we think that the reason is not that, but instead, the fact that she had a very negative experience as a child artist, with her first role being that of a child prostitute in ‘Pretty Baby’.
On the positive side, Brooke denies ever having been a victim of the ‘casting couch’ experience, saying that she lost her virginity when she was 22.
